Northern California Nevada Conference

What You Can Do To LEAD

This three-year campaign reflects the bold, ambitious, progressive vision NCNC has embodied for 150 years. But it starts with every member and every congregation doing what we can to strengthen our congregations and our conference.

“The [dynamic] Realm of God is among you.” – Luke 17:21b.

1. Give directly to your local congregation and NCNC. An investment in NCNC and our congregations is an investment in our shared future. There are more than a dozen ways for individuals to give financially.

2. Become a Spiritually “5 for 5” partner congregation. Congregations deepen their members’ relationship to God when they meet the five core UCC values: worshipping, learning, serving, connecting, and giving.

3. Become a Financially “5 for 5” partner congregation. By building capacity, we expand our ability to fulfill our mission and make our shared vision reality. Financially “5 for 5” congregations contribute to each of the four mission offerings in the UCC:

  • One Great Hour of Sharing
  • Christmas Fund
  • Neighbors in Need
  • Strengthen the Church

They also support the ongoing ministry and mission of the wider church through UCC Share.

4. Identify companies or organizations that can support various NCNC programs. We all know people who are in a position to give, and you can build support for NCNC by reaching out and asking for help. Potential sources might include matching gifts from your employer, a friend at a company with a charitable program or foundation, or initiatives like organizing joint sponsorships in the name of NCNC at public radio stations to get the NCNC name in the ears of its listeners. Contact NCNC to share leads and ideas.

5. Attend a "Rhythm of Abundance" Seminar led by Ron Buford, NCNC Director of Development Ministries. NCNC is holding seminars to strengthen UCC identity within the Conference and to identify and share fundraising strategies for local congregations – all aimed at increasing and sustaining member engagement and financial support. These seminars will help congregations expand their base of support while giving individual members more options to give to both their local congregation and NCNC.
