When the people went out from the land of exile, PSALM 114, Antiphonal Leader: When the people went out from the land of exile,PEOPLE: The people of God’s promise from captors who speech was strange to us, Leader: Our liberated people became God's dwelling place, PEOPLE: Our thankful people God’s dominion. Leader: The sea looked and fled; The river PEOPLE: The mountains skipped like rams, The hills like lambs. Leader: Why was it, O sea, that you fled? PEOPLE: O Jordan River, that you turned back? Leader: O mountains, that you skipped like rams? PEOPLE: O hills, like lambs? Leader: Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Holy One, PEOPLE: At the presence of the God who blessed our ancestors, Leader: Who turned the rock into a pool of water, PEOPLE: The flinty rock into a fountain.
