“From Sea to Shining Sea”
by Mary Susan Gast
Shoved beyond our fascination with our own experience,
We spin and tumble
Into a future more grand and compelling
Than anything we’d pictured
With our squinty and suspicious imaginations,
While huddled, narrow-hearted,
By the narrow hearth of the habitual.
Celebrate!
With the foreigners who abide among you
With the outsiders and outcasts,
All the bounty.
Gloria a Dios!

Here, you will find a Letter of Concern that is addressed to all members of the US House of Representatives and the US Senate that asks our representatives help keep the pressure on the Philippine government concerning extrajudicial killings and other human rights violations against civil society groups in the Philippines.
With the support from you and many others, The Ecumenical Advocacy Network was able to obtain over 300 signatures on a Letter of Concern in 2007, which urged attaching Human Rights conditions and funding restrictions to US military aid to the Philippines. We were able to get human rights restrictions in the bill for Fiscal Year (FY) 2008.read more...
Becoming a Jubilee Conference / Jubilee Congregations
IMPLEMENTING OUR CONFERENCE RESOLUTION REGARDING BECOMING A JUBILEE CHURCH
Dear Friends:
At Annual Meeting 2004 our Conference voted to declare itself a Jubilee Conference. It also recommended that our local churches consider becoming Jubilee Congregations, supporting the program of Jubilee U.S.A. and 80 other countries around the world to bring debt forgiveness to the poorest nations of the world. The forgiveness of 1/3 of these debts in 2000 has resulted in freeing funds which otherwise would have gone to pay interest and principal on never-ending debts and using those funds for education, medical care, water purification and other constructive programs which are badly needed in the developing world.read more...
