Want to learn more about our UCC ministry, history, polity and theologies? Unique to NCNC, our popular four-part UCC Identity Seminars continue in 2010.
The schedule is:
- UCC History: Saturday, March 13 (with Church Day) Congregational UCC, San Mateo, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Register
- UCC Polity: Thursday, May 13 (prior to NCNC Annual Gathering in Pacific Grove) time and location TBA.
- UCC Theologies: Saturday, October 2, (with Church Day) Sierra Arden UCC, Sacramento, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
UCC Ministry: February 2011, details to be announced.
Who should attend:
- Local Church Lay Leaders
- New Members of UCC Congregations
- Persons considering authorized ministry
- Members of In-care Committees supporting Persons in Discernment
- Confirmation Class teachers and mentors
- Anyone wishing to learn about or refresh their understanding of the United Church of Christ
Everyone—whether lay or ordained— is welcome to these seminars. Authorized ministers may receive life-long learning credit for attendance.

UCC Identity Seminars are also a component of the NCNC Ministry Institute, which, in some cases, may provide the UCC History and Polity requirement for clergy from other denominations seeking NCNC UCC standing through Dual Standing, Privilege of Call or Ordained Ministerial Partnership (Christian Church/Disciples of Christ clergy.)
