Clergy ordained in denominations other than the United Church of Christ may seek standing in the Northern California Nevada Conference UCC through

• Dual Standing
• Privilege of Call
• Ordained Ministerial Partnership  (Christian Church/Disciples of Christ clergy).

Some previously ordained candidates, who are in good standing with their denomination, may be eligible to meet the requirement for knowledge of and appreciation for the history and theology, faith, polity and practices of the UCC through participation in the NCNC Ministry Institute.

Completion of the Ministry Institute includes verification of participation in the entire series of Identity Seminars, plus completion of a prescribed program of small group interaction, reading, reflection, involvement and experience in the full range of NCNC life.

Admission to the Ministry Insititute for the purpose of gaining ministerial standing in NCNC is subject to approval. Contact Rev. Carol Barriger, Associate Conference Minister for Authorization for Ministry, to apply.

Schedule of Identity Seminars:

• Ministry: Saturday, February 6, San Lorenzo Community UCC, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• History: Saturday, March 13, (a component of Church Day) Congregational Church of San Mateo UCC, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Polity: Thursday, May 13, (pre-event to Annual Gathering), Christian Church of Pacific Grove, 442 Central Ave.,  Pacific Grove, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, bring your own lunch.
• Theologies: Saturday, October 2, (a component of Church Day) Sierra Arden UCC, Sacramento, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
