 Documents for Licensed Ministry

By definition, a licensed minister performs specified duties in a designated local church or within an Association, mainly preaching and conducting services of worship. Licensed ministry has been created by the United Church of Christ for those special situations when ordained ministers are not available to provide these services to a local church. Licensed ministry, therefore, is a form of service through which those persons who are not ordained fulfill some of the functions more generally performed by ordained ministers. - Manual on Ministry Section 7, Page 2

"…a license is granted … for not more than one year at a time to serve in a designated Local Church or within that Association. Following a review by the Committee on the Ministry, the license may be renewed."  Manual on Ministry Section 7, Page 1 

If you wish to have your license reviewed for renewal please send your request in a letter to the Conference office, Attn: Committee on Ministry Section A.  The Committee also needs a letter from your congregation affirming their support for your license renewal.  When you send in your renewal letter, please fill out and attach the form below, it will help us keep our records up to date and will allow us to keep you better informed of upcoming events and resources for your and your congregation.  Information Review Form
