Lenten Devotions in Hard Economic Times

THIRTY-FIRST DAY OF LENT
               MARCH 24

 Luke 19: 38b, 40

I tell you,
If these were silent,
The stones would
Shout out.

This shout-out
Just has to
Happen.

Salutation.
Honor.
Gratitude.
In public.
For all to hear.

There’s no holding it
Back.

A shout-out
To the One
Who made a home with us,
Whose love
Is the one element,
In the elaborate conglomerate
Of the material and immaterial
Universe,
That is trustworthy.

I tell you,
If these people were silent,
The stones would
Shout out.

Fields and floods,
Rocks, hills, and plains,
Shouting out with
Joy to the earth,
The Saviour reigns.

Peace in heaven,
And glory in
The highest heaven!
Let all creation sing!
