Marcus Borg Preaches and Speaks in San Jose March 21

Biblical and Jesus scholar Marcus Borg will preach at 10AM and speak at 4:30PM at First Congregational UCC, San Jose, Hamilton and Leigh, on Sunday March 21. The United Disciples Fellowship that partners with the UCC church sponsors this visiting scholar series each year.

The afternoon presentation, "An Emerging Jesus for an Emerging Christianity," will be followed by a reception.

Professor Marcus Borg is known internationally in both academic and religious circles. He is the author of sixteen books, the most recent of which are Reading the Bible Again for the First Time, The Heart of Christianity, and Jesus: Uncovering the Life, Teachings and Relevance of a Religious Revolutionary. Professor emeritus in the Philosophy department at Oregon State University where he held the Hundere Chair in Religion and Culture, he is Canon Theologian at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, Oregon.
