Seeking the Face of Christ in Russia: An Experiential Pilgrimage

September 26 - October 10, 2010
A collaboration of Icon Art Studios (Stillwater, MN) and United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities (UCC-related), this pilgrimage is designed to build deeper bridges of cultural and spiritual understanding between American Christianity and the Orthodox faith in Holy Russia.  The pilgrimage is intended to introduce participants to the theology, spirituality, and philosophy of the Orthodox Church in Russia. In community, we will experience the arts and practices of the Russian religious tradition. We will be enriched by:  entering into spiritual practices of another witness to Christ; personalized itineraries to monasteries (lavra), artist studios, iconography schools, seminaries (with guest scholars and theologians), orphanages, cultural centers.
Co-hosts are internationally-acclaimed iconographer Debra Korluka (Icon Art Studios), and Rev. Richard Scheerer (UCC), who will serve as dialogue partners between the two traditions.  CEU credit is available through UTS.   West Coast participants will fly out of San Francisco.  For further information, contact Icon Art Studios, 13921 127th St. North, Stillwater, MN, 55802; or call 612.889.5868.  Information can also be gained by accessing the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities’ web site; or, by contacting Rev. Dr. Norman Broadbent (Fresno), at either <minister@bigredchurch.org>, or 559.227.8489.
