UCC/DOC Missionary in Thailand available to speak this fall
Salvador (Buddy) Martinez, who has served in Thailand with our Global Ministries for 17 years, will spend two months in the Conference this fall to help put a face on our mission work overseas, show what our mission dollars do, and interpret the work of missions in South Asia.
He is available to speak and preach between October 1 and November 30, except for the first week in November. Call or email Eppie Encabo 707-853-2336 with questions or to schedule a visit. Eppie is handling Buddy’s arrangements during his time in our Conference.
A native of the Philippines, Buddy serves as Professor of Theology and Ethics, as well as the Director of the International M. Div. program of Theology, at McGilvary College of Divinity of Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He also recruited students and raised scholarship funds, taught theology, Christian ethics, history of Christianity, homiletics, and ecumenics. This has been a joint appointment by the Common Global Ministries Board of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ.
Encabo says, "Having Buddy come to your church is a great opportunity to learn more about South Asia, connect with an international partner, and see how our contributions to the wider church are carried out on the ground. Please be in touch to schedule a visit with Buddy."
